Tay Ninh breaks ground on multi-level boarding schools in 19 border communes (Vietnamese)
The ceremony was held simultaneously at 17 locations nationwide, combining in-person and online connections across 17 provinces and cities. Attending the ceremony were General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with other leaders of the Party, Government and members of the Government.
At the ceremony in Ben Cau commune were former Politburo member and former President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam Truong Tan Sang; Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh; and leaders of ministries, central agencies and sectors.
Representing Tay Ninh province were Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyen Manh Hung; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Van Han; Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Hong Thanh; Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Doan Trung Kien; together with current and former leaders of Tay Ninh and Long An (former) provinces.
The program to launch multi-level boarding schools in border areas was carried out simultaneously in 121 land border communes in 17 provinces and cities. In Tay Ninh province, construction began concurrently in 19 communes, with the central venue located in Ben Cau commune.
The school complex in the commune is planned on a total proposed land area of 54,741m2, with a total investment of nearly VND235 billion. The school is designed to accommodate 1,420 students under boarding and semi-boarding arrangements, including 710 boarding students and 710 semi-boarding students after completion.
The projects will create learning opportunities for more than 25,600 students in border areas across the province, enabling them to study in a modern environment with adequate facilities, with a total investment capital exceeding VND3.9 trillion.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the Ministry of Education and Training, along with relevant ministries, agencies and localities for their close coordination, focused direction and determined efforts in preparing and implementing the construction of multi-level boarding schools in border communes.
The Prime Minister requested leaders of ministries and agencies, especially secretaries and chairpersons of localities, to continue strengthening leadership and direction, promptly address difficulties and obstacles, and support the implementation of projects with the highest determination, greater efforts and the most decisive actions.
The event carries profound political, social and humanitarian significance, reflecting the Party and State’s attention to investing in educational development in border communes. The simultaneous groundbreaking not only continues the achievements of the previous phase but also affirms the determination to ensure learning opportunities for students in border areas, contributing to the development of local human resources and the sustainable strengthening of border regions./.
